Terms of Use

SailWise is licensed to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”), which governs your use of the app. These terms add details specific to SailWise. If anything here conflicts with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA wins.

SailWise teaches the ideas, words and rules of sailing and includes a simulator. It is not a substitute for instruction on the water, it does not certify you, and passing its lessons or missions does not mean you are ready to skipper a boat. Learn with a qualified instructor, wear a life jacket, check the weather and local rules before you go, and sail within your experience.

The simulator is a simplified model. Real boats, wind, waves and currents behave differently, and nothing in the app is navigation advice. Never use SailWise to navigate.

SailWise is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by the American Sailing Association (ASA) or US Sailing. Course names are used only to describe which topics each level covers.

Please don’t copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute the app, or use it in a way that breaks the law. SailWise, Pip and the other artwork and lesson content in the app belong to C6 Labs LLC.

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, C6 Labs LLC isn’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for injury or damage arising from sailing or any other activity, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us for SailWise in the previous 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be waived. We may update these terms; when we do, the date above changes.
