Put your thumb on the helm pad: the centre steers straight and the edges are full lock, and letting go holds your course. Slide the sheet control toward TRIM to pull the sail in and toward EASE to let it out. Watch the telltales: when both stream back, you’re trimmed.
You’re in irons: the bow is pointing into the no-go zone, so the sail can’t make power and the rudder has no water flowing past it. Ease the sheet, hold the helm hard to one side and wait for the bow to fall off the wind, then sheet in again. The wind dial shows the no-go zone as a shaded wedge.
Approach slowly on a close reach, then ease the sheet all the way out about three boat lengths before the berth so the sail luffs and you coast in. You need to be under 0.6 knots inside the berth to finish. Pip warns you if you’re coming in too fast.
Open the Logbook tab, add your days on the water with the + button, then tap Make my sailing résumé (PDF). Share it from the share sheet to email, Files or Messages.
Open the Me tab, tap Reset all progress and confirm. Your progress lives only on your iPhone, so resetting it can’t be undone.
Tell us from inside the app: Me tab › Report a problem, or pause any simulator mission and tap Report a problem, which attaches what your boat was doing so we can reproduce it. Choose Wrong sailing info if a lesson got something wrong.
Tell us what happened, mention SailWise and your iPhone model, and we’ll help.
