Privacy Policy

No account. No analytics, no ads and no tracking. Your progress and logbook stay on your iPhone. We don’t sell or share personal information.

Your XP, streaks, hearts, completed lessons, mission stars, settings and logbook entries are stored only on your iPhone. They are not sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app, or tapping Reset all progress in the app’s Me tab, removes them.

The sailing résumé PDF is created on your iPhone. It goes only where you send it with the share sheet.

If you use Report a problem in the app, SailWise sends us what you write, the type of report, and the email address if you enter one (only so we can reply). If you leave Include diagnostics on, it also sends the app version, iOS version, device model, language setting and where you were in the app; a report from the simulator also includes the state of your boat at that moment (speed, heading, sheet and wind). The app shows you exactly what will be sent before you send it, and you can turn diagnostics off.

Reports go to our server at carbonapps.com and into our support inbox. We use them only to fix problems and reply to you, and delete them when they’re no longer needed. If you’re offline, the report waits on your iPhone and is sent the next time you open the app.

SailWise doesn’t ask for your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone. Horn signals in lessons are played, never recorded.

If you ask to be emailed when SailWise launches, we store your email address and the time you signed up on our server. We use it for that one email, then delete the list. We don’t share it or use it for anything else. To be removed sooner, use the contact form.

The app contains no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking code, and it does not track you across other apps or websites. If your iPhone is set to share crash reports with app developers (an Apple setting you control), Apple may pass us anonymous technical crash logs.

This website uses no analytics or cookies and is also covered by the C6 Labs privacy policy.

SailWise is not directed to children under 13, and we knowingly collect no personal information from children. If a child has sent us a report with personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Wherever you live, including California under the CCPA/CPRA and the EU/UK under the GDPR, you can ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to delete it. For SailWise that is only the problem reports you’ve sent us. To make a request, use the contact form.
